I love summer time in Helsinki, so I would suggest anyone to visit the beautiful city then. I love the coastline and the archipelago. Helsinki has some great restaurants as well and life is pretty relaxed and easy going.

Best experience in Helsinki

In general, I love the summer time. Meeting my friends in Mattolaituri (a great place for drinks by the harbour) and just enjoying the summer evenings when it’s light almost all the time.


What’s special for Helsinki and the Finnish culture?

Helsinki is changing and developing fast. Finnish are said to be reserved, but once you make a friend, they’re friends for life. Sauna is also one thing, which is close to our hearts and so is the summerhouse culture. And yes, Finnish drink a lot. Seeing drunken people in Helsinki on a weekend night is not rare to say the least.

Best Helsinki advice

Come during the summer, and enjoy the city by foot and jump on a cruise so you get to experience it from sea as well.

Muru – Ranked as one of the best restaurants in Helsinki. The food is simple and Scandinavian, but so good! It’s a small restaurant and very popular so be sure to make a reservation.

Gaijin – This restaurant offers Asian food and I suggest you to take the tasting menu, it’s a great way to try a bit of everything.

Ragu – My favorite restaurant in Helsinki at the moment. The chefs are amazing and food is simply delicious.


Strindberg – Serves classic Finnish dishes. I love the old school vibe here.

Drink here

Bronda – Great cocktails and central location. A DJ is playing during most nights.

Grotesk – Great vibes and the best place to have drinks before going out.

Mattolaituri – The place to be during summer evenings. It’s outdoors so don’t even try going there on a rainy day!

Kappeli – I love this place during summer nights! The crowd is quite young, but the building is very beautiful so it’s worth visiting.

Ahjo – Great music and a nice atmosphere. The only issue is that it’s very small so be sure to go there early enough before it gets too packed.

Helsinki Day Spa – A luxurious spa in the city center. Perfect for taking a few hours off and just relaxing.

Kaivopuisto – A park near the sea. Great views and it’s a great place for a picnic.

Yrjönkadun uimahalli – This public pool is so beautiful! Be sure to try it out if you’re into swimming.

Suomenlinna – An island not far from the center with a lot of history. Great place to enjoy a picnic and enjoy the beautiful views of Helsinki.


Tuomiokirkko – My favorite church in the center of Helsinki. A true city landmark.

Punavuori – I love this neighbourhood. It’s full of small boutiques, great restaurants and coffee stores. It’s also close to the sea.

Cruise – Be sure to take a boat ride around the archipelago. It’s such a beautiful part of Helsinki!

Ninas – Small luxury store selling brands such as Chloe and Carven. The only store in Helsinki that sells Louboutin heels.

Luxbag – I’m a big fan of Céline and this store has a great selection of this brand. The assortment is wide here: Céline, Fendi, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Loewe… So if you’re looking for a luxury bag, this is your spot!

Urban A – A small boutique with a great selection of Scandinavian labels. I Love their jewelry offer! You should also check their sweatshirts from their own brand. I use my “Urban Mood” sweatshirt a lot and I love it!
